I know this isn't body work or paint but it has to do with the body. I removed hood to install new engine. All I did was remove the 4 bolts. When I installed hood and closed it ,the rear of hood is raised up about an inch. I tried all sorts of adjustments with hinges but still the same.Do I need new springs or hinges or both and are they the same as 61 chevys.
I think the alignment is out. When I did my swap I used a china marker to trace the hinges on the hood as well as bolt heads and holes on parts. After the swap the hood went on following the marks and closed properly first time. I think you need some fiddling. Its at least a two man job, better with three.
Well Ray I didn't touch the hinges, marked the hood so it would go back the same. On canadian poncho Brent had the same thing ,gave me a suggestion and I tried it . It kinda worked ,right side is good but left side is as still raised about a1/2".I'll play with it tomorrow ,hopefully I'll get it perfect.
